So...I have an actual TOPIC today. And it is this...injustice in the public school system, and unfortunately, the Powers that Be have made an example of this out of Sebastian. This isn't about freakdancing. It's not about letting DIVAs and break dancers into the god-awful pep rallies. It's about our First Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Just replace "Congress" and "Government" with "school administration", and there you have our problem. Our administration, in removing Sebbie from candidacy in the SGA presidential race, has denied HIS right to speak his voice, and because he was running to represent the students, OUR voice has been silenced as well. Someone once said: "In our system, state-operated schools may not be enclaves of totalitarianism. School officials do not possess absolute authority over their students. Students in school as well as out of school are 'persons' under our Constitution." Think about it.
